2) How do I get a PIN?
If you wish to apply for a PIN, click the following blue link PIN Application. If you
provide an email address, you should receive the PIN(s) in 1-3 days. Once
you use the PIN(s) to sign electronically, the application will process
in 3-5 days.

If the student or the student's parents need a PIN, have lost or
forgotten a PIN, or think someone else knows their PIN, they can request

For assistance with PINs not being received, please call the Federal Student Aid Information
Center at 1-800-433-3243 or email them at [email protected]. We are similar to a tax preparation
service for the FAFSA. The online FAFSA preparation
service we offer does not support PIN requests at this time.
5) Is a PIN required to file a FAFSA
A PIN allows the student to sign an application without having to
submit a signature page. The student is not required to have a PIN to
submit a FAFSA. However, a PIN is
reusable from year to year, and it can be useful in speeding up the
process of submitting a signature to the federal processor. If you don not already have a PIN, we
recommend you file your FAFSA and then apply for a PIN. You can sign your FAFSA after you
receive your PIN.
